Vault
A vault is an isolated namespace — one tenant, one company, one user. You open one with const vault = await db.openVault('acme'), and it sits in the middle of the Noydb → Vault → Collection<T> hierarchy: the session opens it, and every collection you read or write lives inside it.
Each vault has its own keyring, so access to one vault says nothing about another. It holds the vault's typed collections plus its own descriptive metadata (a label / description, applied first-wins on the first open) and a default locale for i18n resolution.

Vaultinstance: opening collections, encrypted backup and restore, metadata and locale, session identity, and export authorization.
Everything a vault gains once you opt into a service — dictionaries, links, sequences, blobs, archival, history and time-travel, periods, consent, tiers and delegation, forget/erasure, sealed records, attestation — is listed under Unlocked by services on the methods page, each linking its Services catalog page.
